With more than 1 billion people, everyone is looking at China as the market of the future. Wal-Mart, Carrefour, Tesco, Metro and Watsons are opening new stores in cities across the country. Private label is still in its infancy, but these retailers are experienced private label leaders and they see opportunities for their own brands. Chinese retailers like Lianhua and Wumart are developing their own brands too. PLMA is organising a private label trade show in conjunction with the Shanghai International Sourcing Promotion Center to help members source and sell in China.

All over the world, private label is growing more and more popular. The growth of private label reflects in this year’s “World of Private Label” Trade Show. It is the number one trade show in the world that is entirely dedicated to private label industry with more than 3800 exhibit stands and with retail and wholesale buyers, executives from supermarkets, hypermarkets, drugstores, discounters, department stores, specialty stores, DIY, cash & carry, hospitality industry and buying groups plus importers and exporters from over 100 countries in attendance.
