PLMA membership is all about sales and networking opportunities and professional growth; at trade shows, conferences, executive education and other programmes, in-person as well as online. Below is an overview of PLMA’s main events en programmes.
Trade Shows
To help member companies meet retailers on a global scale, PLMA organises the annual "World of Private Label" International Trade Show in Amsterdam each May and the annual U.S. Private Label Trade Show in Chicago each November. Both shows are leaders in their category and must-attend events for retail and wholesale buyers. PLMA member companies enjoy better exhibitor participation rates.
Conferences
Keeping up with the latest trends, addressing industry-wide challenges, and connecting member manufacturers with retailers and wholesalers are at the heart of PLMA’s conferences. These include the Annual Private Label Summit in Europe, held in October; the Packaging Conference, taking place every two years in January in a European city; and the Annual Meeting & Leadership Conference in the U.S., held in March. PLMA member companies benefit from reduced participation fees.
Executive Education
To help members train and educate their management personnel, PLMA organises Executive Education Programmes, where classes combine interactive teaching with traditional lectures and case studies. PLMA member companies are eligible for special participation and tuition fees.
Lunch & Learn Online Speaker Series
PLMA’s Online 'Lunch and Learn' is designed for private label manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers, who want to expand their knowledge of the private label business. PLMA organises several sessions a year, each focusing on dedicated topics and trends.

PLMA’s Industry Reports
"A Mosaic of Markets: PLMA’s 2026 Report On The Status Of Private Label Across Europe"
The report details sales results during 2025 of both private label and manufacturer brands across seventeen countries monitored exclusively for the Private Label Manufacturers Association International Council by NielsenIQ.
Given consumer concerns on inflation and the increased cost of items for daily use, it comes as no surprise that also in 2025 European shoppers appreciated private labels, offering real value for money. Both in value and volume, private labels outpaced in 2025 the overall annual sales growth in the grocery sectors of those seventeen European countries.
PLMA's 2024 study -- "European Retailers & Manufacturers Talk About the Future: What will the private label landscape look like over the next five years?" -- focuses on the factors contributing to the growth of private label throughout Europe; the evolving relationship between manufacturers and retails; and the state of the product innovation and development, among other topics.
The report contains the results of a survey PLMA conducted earlier this year among 1,017 private label executives from 865 companies across 37 countries, including 863 manufacturers and 154 retailers.
