The report "A Mosaic of Markets: PLMA’s 2026 Report On The Status Of Private Label Across Europe" details sales results during 2025 of both private label and manufacturer brands across seventeen countries monitored exclusively for the Private Label Manufacturers Association International Council by NielsenIQ.
Given consumer concerns on inflation and the increased cost of items for daily use, it comes as no surprise that also in 2025 European shoppers appreciated private labels, offering real value for money. Both in value and volume, private labels outpaced in 2025 the overall annual sales growth in the grocery sectors of those seventeen European countries.

PLMA's 2024 study -- "European Retailers & Manufacturers Talk About the Future: What will the private label landscape look like over the next five years?" -- focuses on the factors contributing to the growth of private label throughout Europe; the evolving relationship between manufacturers and retails; and the state of the product innovation and development, among other topics.
The report contains the results of a survey PLMA conducted in 2024 among 1,017 private label executives from 865 companies across 37 countries, including 863 manufacturers and 154 retailers.
